Darts

A dart is a fold in an item of clothing that is sewn in a wedge shape, or as a waist dart, also in a diamond shape. Depending on the garment, darts are used on the shoulder, chest, waist and on the waistband of the skirt or trousers in order to adapt the fabric to the body shape. The thread is not sewn at the tapered end, but knotted so that the tip can also be ironed flat without being bulky. The darts are usually ironed to one side on the back, they can also be optically highlighted with additional stitching .
