Abuk
In the mythology of the Dinka, Abuk was the first woman created by the god Nhialic , an original mother and patron goddess of women and gardens. According to the Dinka tradition, it causes wind (ayum) and dew (alwet) . In some traditions she is the mother of the rain god Deng or Danka. Her sign is a little snake . In the Dinka creation story, she caused the separation of heaven and earth.
Abuk and Garang are common names among the Dinka.
