The Acelga Quintet is a German-Luxembourgish woodwind quintet (classical wind quintet) founded in 2012 .

Life

The Acelga Quintet emerged from the contacts of young musicians during their studies and participation in orchestral academies. The name originated from the Spanish translation of the flutist's surname. The members who now have positions with well-known German symphony orchestras are:

  • Hanna Mangold (flute),
  • Sebastian Poyault (oboe),
  • Julius Kircher (clarinet),
  • Amanda Kleinbart (horn),
  • Antonia Zimmermann (bassoon).

The Acelga Quintet makes regular guest appearances in concert series and at festivals and plays mainly original compositions, but also arrangements of well-known works for woodwind quintet from different stylistic epochs from classical to contemporary music. The ensemble became particularly famous for its successful participation in the ARD music competition in 2014.
