GENUIN is an independent classical music - label and a mobile Classic - recording studio in Leipzig . The word “genuine” comes from Latin and means “innate, genuine, unadulterated”.

history

The company was founded in Detmold in 1998 under the name "GENUIN Musikproduktion" by the two sound engineers Holger Busse and Alfredo Lasheras Hakobian. Five years later, in January 2003, the classic label GENUIN went on sale throughout Germany with mainly its own recordings.

In 2005 the company moved from Detmold to Leipzig , which resulted in a lively cooperation with the MDR and the Gewandhaus . In January 2006, the sound engineer Michael Silberhorn joined the company.

In 2009, GENUIN Musikproduktion was split into the classical label GENUIN classics and the music production company GENUIN recording group .

Repertoire and awards

In addition to the entire classical repertoire from Renaissance to Modern , the label focuses on the publication of rarely performed works and the promotion of young talent. The more than 500 classic CDs that have now been published are sold worldwide via CD dealers and download and streaming platforms .
