Midem

The Midem (Marché international de l'édition musicale) is the world's largest music fair and has been held annually in Cannes since 1967 . The music industry often uses them as a platform to announce new products, musicians or industry strategies. Each trade fair has a main topic; at Midem 2004 it was selling music on the internet ,

In addition to business discussions, various accompanying events such as lectures , seminars and concerts take place at Midem .

The Midem Classical Award has been presented every year since 2005 for the best classical music productions of the previous year from around 20 categories of classical music . The German members of the jury, which is made up of 20 international specialist magazines, are the specialist journal Fono Forum , the Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk ( MDR ) and the online classic magazine klassik.com .

Around 8,620 visitors and 4,000 companies from 92 countries took part in Midem 2003.

Midem 2008: 9,093 participants, 4,545 companies, 2,233 exhibiting companies, 88 countries, 9,017 m² total stand space, 482 journalists from 398 media.
