L'arpa festante
L'arpa festante ( Italian for "festive harp") is a chamber orchestra that is often dedicated to the re-performance of unknown works, especially from the Baroque period .
L'arpa festante was founded in 1983 in Munich by Michi Gaigg , who also ran it until 1995. The ensemble borrowed its name from the dramatic cantata of the same name by Giovanni Battista Maccioni († around 1678), which was performed in 1653 for the inauguration of the Munich Opera. L'arpa festante appears in changing, smaller ensembles, often with choirs or vocal soloists. L'arpa festante plays early music on historical instruments, which creates an authentic sound impression. The ensemble has been led by Rien Voskuilen and Fritz Näf since 1996 .
