Stephan Schreckenberger

Stephan Schreckenberger (born February 16, 1955 ) is a German singer ( bass ) and conductor .

Life

He first studied school music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. This was followed by concert training (KA) with Annemarie Grünewald in Heidelberg and Ernst Gerold Schramm in Berlin. He finished his training with Karl Heiz Jarius in Frankfurt am Main.

Career

From 1987 to 2005 he was a member of the solo vocal ensemble Cantus Cölln . Internationally, he works primarily in the field of early music . There are around 60 CD recordings. There has been a long-term collaboration with the conductors Jordi Savall , Sigiswald Kuijken , Masaaki Suzuki , Hermann Max , Konrad Junghänel , Michael Schneider u. a.

In 1999 Schreckenberger founded the solo ensemble "Musica Lingua". In GENUIN current three CDs have been released.

Since 2003 he has looked after singers and vocal ensembles within the Department of Historical Interpretation Practice (HIP) at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . This work resulted in the “Ensemble Hochmusik”, an instrumental and vocal ensemble based in Frankfurt am Main.

Since the 2011 season he has been the artistic director of the Weilburg Palace Concerts . He follows Karl Rarichs , who oversaw the festival artistically for 30 years. In 2014, Stephan Schreckenberger founded the music consultancy "Pro Podium" together with Miriam Kunz.
