Ad acta

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The term ad acta ('to the files') is a Latin phrase from the official language . It is started with aa , sometimes with ad a. abbreviated. This formerly official note was attached to submissions that no longer required a decision and were archived, i.e. placed on the files . In contemporary filing, the abbreviation zd A. is also used for “to the files”.

As used today, to shelve something means that an (occasionally annoying) matter is considered to be done.
