history

The company was founded in 1932 by the banker Adalbert Zajadacz in Hamburg-Harburg as an electrical wholesaler. In 1934 it was entered in the commercial register. The first branch was opened in Celle in 1949.

After the founder's death in 1964, his wife Zinaida and son Michael Zajadacz took over the management. In the following years, additional locations were bought or opened; Especially in the 1990s, Adalbert Zajadacz GmbH expanded its network of branches and at the turn of the millennium supplied over 17 locations in northern Germany and had a customer base of over 6000 installation companies, electrical retailers and industrial companies.

In 2000 Zinaida Zajadacz died, her son Michael Zajadacz took over the sole management.

In 2008 Michael Zajadacz retired from operational management for health reasons. He stayed with the company as a partner until his death on February 29, 2016.

At the end of 2011, the branch network had grown to 19 locations. The logistics concept "Logistics 2013" was initiated. The existing logistics in Neu Wulmstorf was expanded to include a new hall with an area of ​​6500 m². As part of the “Logistics 2013” ​​project, 2012 u. a. a mobile racking system and multi-storey flat-floor racks with a rotating, automated transport system. The cable store was expanded to around 1400 types. The 20th branch was opened in Berlin-Wittenau.

The partner Michael Zajadacz passed away on February 29, 2016. In the same year the Uelzen branch opened (in Lüneburg). The Bremerhaven branch opened in 2017.

In 2017 Adalbert Zajadacz GmbH changed its name to Adalbert Zajadacz GmbH & Co. KG.

The Adalbert Zajadacz Foundation

The non-profit Adalbert Zajadacz Foundation was set up in 2001 by Michael A. Zajadacz, the son of the company founder, a legal foundation under civil law. It is primarily dedicated to promoting talent and training in the field of electrical trade and electrical engineering. Funded projects are primarily in the field of art and culture as well as training and further education.
