Adelheid Praher

Adelheid Praher (born October 16, 1933 in St. Pölten ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and employee of the municipal authorities. Praher was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1982 and 1992 .

After completing compulsory school, Praher attended the federal commercial school in St. Pölten and in 1949 joined the municipal administration of St. Pölten. Between 1960 and 1965 she interrupted her work at the magistrate and worked as a housewife. She then worked part-time from 1965 to 1975, and in 1967 became a consultant for the school and kindergarten system of the St. Pölten Magistrate.

Praher became active in the SPÖ in 1954 and between 1975 and 1982 held the function of councilor and city councilor in St. Pölten, in 1972 she became a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Lower Austria. In addition, from 1973 she was chairwoman of the district women's committee of the SPÖ St. Pölten and from 1982 deputy chairman of the SPÖ St. Pölten. In 1987 she became a member of the SPÖ federal party executive. She represented the SPÖ from October 1, 1982 to November 30, 1992 in the National Council, where she was followed by Heidemaria Onodi .
