The German Nobility Law Committee is an organization under association law , supported by the nobility associations in the German-speaking area.

history

The committee sees itself as the legal successor to the organizations of the German nobility that existed from 1918 to 1945 in the German Nobility Association . He has no competence to judge or make legal determinations. Due to the abolition of the class privileges of the nobility in Germany in 1919, his decisions are not legally relevant.

Within the Association of German Aristocratic Associations , the committee decides on issues relating to nobility law, oversees the Gothaische Genealogical Handbook and the German Aristocratic Archive .
