Ferrule pliers
The wire-end ferrule pliers are a tool for pressing wire-end ferrules onto the stripped part of a stranded wire ; this is also known as crimping . Correct pressing is tensile and gas-tight, so that neither slipping out nor oxidation of the pressed-in conductor surfaces occurs.
Depending on the quality and manufacturer, the pliers have different properties. A distinction is made according to the pressed shape of the end sleeve:
- Trapezoid (DIN)
- square
- rectangle
- V-shape (mandrel pressing)
- hexagon
Depending on the type, pliers are also equipped with
- Forced compression (prevents early opening of the pliers)
- defined pressing pressure
- Locking and unlocking
- exchangeable matrices for different types and cross-sections of ferrules
- automatic cross-section adjustment
