Adjutor bishop

The adjutor bishop is a designation that does not exist in the field of Catholic canon law . Canon law knows the coadjutor who is placed at the side of a bishop and is given the right to take his place under certain conditions. An adjutor bishop is only mentioned in connection with the jurisdictions of the GDR . An adjutor bishop was an auxiliary bishop with the right to succeed the episcopal commissioner or vicar general in the ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
