Admodiation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Admodiation , also amodiation, is a term that is rarely used today for a lease . The term was mostly used in France until the early 19th century. In the contract, for example, it was about the lease of a large property (fiefdom) with all associated rights, e.g. B. Hunting law , patrimonial jurisdiction , brewing justice . Everything that went beyond the agreed admodiation fee (= agreed lease amount) remained in the possession of the admodiator (= the lessee).

In the legal area of the German Reich , admodiations can also relate to the leasing of mining rights, customs rights, brewing and hunting rights or the rights of a sovereign to exploit salt pans.
