Adrar n'Ahnet

The Adrar n'Ahnet is an Algerian mountain landscape southwest of Tamanrasset . It is located in a region of the same name. Geologically, it is a mixture of granite and sand dune transitions . The Erg Mehedjibat is impressive and has a strong "red" color depending on the time of day and the incidence of light.

In the Adrar n'Ahnet there are a large number of rock art , which indicates that the region was previously settled. The rock drawings by Tim Meskis, for example, are assigned to the cattle era , which is also documented by the expansion of various caves. During the Stone Age, the caves offered protection from wild animals, cold and windy weather.

The rock walls of the region are very high and delicate, so that only narrow rays of sunshine reach the ground.
