Affinity (textile industry)

In the dyeing and textile industries, affinity is the yardstick of the absorption capacity of dyes in textile raw materials.

If the affinity limit is exceeded, bleeding occurs . In dyeing, a high affinity means that there is more dye on the goods than in the liquor . A high-affinity dyeing therefore often has better wet fastness .
