Africa Yearbook

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Africa Yearbook (subtitled Politics, Economy and Society South of the Sahara ) is a yearbook published in cooperation with the African Studies Center in Leiden, the Institute of African Affairs (part of the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies ) in Hamburg and Nordiska Africa Institute in Uppsala.

The yearbook publishes country-specific articles on domestic political developments, foreign policy and socio-economic trends in Sub-Saharan Africa during the corresponding calendar year and thus presents an updated overview of the events of the past year every year. It also deals with the relationships between countries and with the international community.

The Africa Yearbook is aimed at a broad readership - students, politicians, business people and other interested parties. It emerged from the Africa Yearbook , which was published by the Institut für Afrika-Kunde (today the GIGA Institute for Africa Studies ) for 17 years .
