Agenda 2004 for reform of the welfare state

The 2004 agenda for reforming the welfare state was presented by the former SPD party leader , Oskar Lafontaine (today Die Linke ). He accused the government of failing to include social justice in Agenda 2010 .

In his concept, Lafontaine called for the pension reform to be withdrawn and the practice fee to be canceled . This should be financed by including all social groups in the social system, including civil servants , the self-employed and those with higher incomes . His concept also stipulated that top earners pay a higher income tax.

In addition, tax refugees should be deprived of their German citizenship . Companies that move jobs abroad should pay back subsidies . For boosting the economy which saw ten-point plan , a stimulus program before. Tax relief should only be granted if a company adheres to the training quota.

Another aim of Oskar Lafontaine's concept was to win back voters for the SPD .
