Agharta (Manga)
Agharta ( Japaneseア ガ ル タagaruta ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Takahal Matsumoto .
Publications
Agharta has been published in Japan since 1997 in serial chapters in the Shueisha publishing house's Ultra Jump manga magazine . These continuation chapters are also combined at irregular intervals into nine anthologies.
Between 2001 and 2006, eight volumes in German were published by Planet Manga .

Juju, who works for the Mafia, lives on an earth of the future that has become a desert. When he met the mysterious girl Rael one day, he followed her to the island of High Ground. Rael is apparently imprisoned there and tries to escape, but fails because she needs an unusually large amount of water and immediately develops a high fever if she does not drink regularly.
So Juju, who wants to protect Rael, has to go to find water in the desert. However, the two are being watched and followed.
