Corporación Nacional Forestal

Corporación Nacional Forestal ( CONAF ) is the Chilean forest authority.

It was founded in 1970 by the Ministry of Agriculture and supervises a. a. the 32 national parks (Parques Nacionales) , 47 nature reserves and 13 national monuments of Chile with a total area of ​​140,000 km².

The most famous protected area in Chile is the Torres del Paine National Park in the Chilean part of Patagonia , north of Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales .
