The Icelandic Agricultural University ( Icelandic Landbúnaðarháskóli Íslands ) in Hvanneyri is a university and research institution for agricultural and environmental sciences.
history
The training in agriculture goes back to a legislative initiative from 1889. The Agricultural University of Iceland started teaching in the fall of 1900 as one of the oldest universities in the country. In 2005 it was fundamentally restructured into three main areas:
education
The majority of courses offered at the college are in Icelandic. However, there are also some courses that are taught in English as the college also accepts Erasmus students .
Education at the Agricultural University of Iceland is free, students only pay an annual "admission fee". There are bachelor, master and doctoral programs as well as the possibility of receiving research grants.
