Akşa

The Tuvinian Akşa was the currency of the Tuvinian People's Republic in North Asia from 1934 to 1944 .

After Tannu-Tuwas declared independence in 1921, the Russian and Soviet rubles were the official currency of the People's Republic from 1925 to 1933 . The banknotes were stamped with the currency indication Lan . One ruble was equivalent to one lan. From 1934 to 1936 the Mongolian tögrög was the official currency.

In 1936, the Tuvinian Akşa was introduced as its own currency. It was pegged to the Soviet ruble. The banknotes denominated in Akşa bore the year 1935 and 1940. Banknotes of 1, 3, 5, 10 and 25 Akşa were issued. The motif on all banknotes was a farmer with agricultural implements.

1 Akşa was divided into 100 Kɵpejek. There were coins of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 kɵpejek.
