Weihenstephan Academy

Academy Weihenstephan is the name of an academy for agriculture and brewery in Weihenstephan near Freising , which is now part of the Weihenstephan Science Center for Nutrition, Land Use and Environment of the Technical University of Munich and the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences .

history

Agriculture and later also brewing has been taught in the former Weihenstephan monastery since secularization . On July 28, 1895 the Agricultural Central School Weihenstephan was elevated to the status of the Royal Bavarian Academy for Agriculture and Brewery . In January 1920, the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture ordered the previous academy to be elevated to a university , which on May 21, 1928 was incorporated into the Association of the Technical University of Munich .
