The State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Novosibirsk (Russian: Новосибирский государственный академический театр оперы и балета) on Lenin Square in the center of the Russian city of Novosibirsk is the main theater in Siberia and one of the most important in Russia. It has the largest theater building in Russia, even larger than Moscow's Bolshoi Theater . The external appearance of the building, which was completed in February 1944, is characterized by a central, 35-meter-high dome structure with an enormous columned hall in front as a foyer. The stage is 30 meters deep and just as high. The house occupies an area of 11,837 square meters, encloses 294,340 cubic meters and offers space for around 1,800 spectators. The first performance took place on May 12, 1945.

A renovation in 2005 made it the technically most modern theater in Russia. In the same year, the Rossii Bank issued a silver commemorative coin with a face value of 3 rubles with a view of the theater.
