Akadinda

The Akadinda is a Ugandan Holm xylophone with traditionally 17 to 22 sound bars.

construction

The sound bars rest on two bars made of banana trunks. Up to 6 players can play at the same time on an Akadinda, 3 on each side. The maximum range of notes is from c to a ". The Akadinda is played mainly in southern Uganda.

Other xylophones are Balafon , Embaire , Amadinda , Manza , Lengasho, and Kponimbo .
