Acarophobia
Acarophobia (Greek akari = mite, phobos = fear) describes an exaggerated fear of humans against animals that might be considered parasites such as certain insects and mites . It is a special form of dermatozoal madness .
Symptoms
Possible symptoms of acarophobia include:
- Irrational fear of insects
- Feeling afraid / frightened
- Increased heart rate
- dizziness
- Tremble
- Shortness of breath
- Panic attacks
- Dry mouth
- Inability to speak / think clearly
treatment
Although there are no medications for the disease per se, symptoms can be treated with medication or relaxation techniques.
