Alarm wire

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An alarm wire is a wire that triggers an alarm . Alarm wires are used, among other things, in hazard alarm systems , in glass break detectors , in border fortifications such as the inner German border or as an element of self- firing systems .

The mode of operation is electromechanical: if the current-carrying wire breaks, the alarm is triggered by interrupting the electrical circuit.
