Ale (unit)

Ale was a measure of length in Scandinavia and corresponded to the cubit . There were different spellings, such as Alen or Aln, for the measure. The island ale was a little smaller than the Danish one.

• Island 1 ale = 252,964 Parisian lines = 570,643 millimeters
  • Denmark 1 Alen = 278.5 Parisian lines = 628.25 millimeters
• Sweden 1 Ale / Aln = 2 Fot = 4 Quarter = 263.23 Parisian lines = 583.802 millimeters
