Alejandro Iglesias Rossi

Alejandro Iglesias Rossi (born July 27, 1960 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine composer.

Iglesias Rossi studied composition and electroacoustic music at the Catholic University of Argentina (1977–79), the Boston Conservatory of Music (1980–82) and the Conservatoire de Paris (1983–87). His teachers included John Adams , Guy Reibel and Sergio Ortega . In Paris he was a member of the Movimiento ensemble for contemporary Latin American music. Since 1992 he has been living in Argentina again.

For his compositions he received a. a. first prizes at the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers 1985 and at the International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music 1996. In 1988 he received a Nadia Boulanger scholarship and in 1991 the City of Buenos Aires Prize. His works have been performed at international festivals in Latin America and Europe, such as the Warsaw Autumn , the Styrian Autumn and the Foro de Música Nueva in Mexico.
