Alfred Heinzel

Alfred Hannes Heinzel (* 1947 ) is an Austrian industrialist whose Heinzel Group has an important position in the Austrian paper industry .

Life

Heinzel, who studied mechanical engineering, began his career at Laakirchen Papier in Laakirchen, Upper Austria . The paper mill there belonged to Heinzel's uncle Wilfried Heinzel. After Wilfried Heinzel had sold the plant to the Swedish SCA group, Alfred Heinzel went to SCA himself and held a position on the board of the Stockholm company. In 2000, at the request of his childhood friend, paper industrialist and then second President of the National Council, Thomas Prinzhorn , Heinzel became chairman of the supervisory board of the state investment management company ÖIAG . In the same year Heinzel took over the pulp mill in the Styrian Pöls Pöls . In 2013, Heinzel bought back Laakirchen Papier AG from SCA, which had previously been family-owned. The Domaine Albrechtsfeld in Burgenland is also owned by Heinzels and is part of the Heinzel Group. In June 2014 Alfred Heinzel was elected President of the Austrian Paper Industry Association, Austropapier.

Alfred Heinzel is a passionate hunter, is married and has three sons.
