Alfred Schmidt (Turner)

Alfred Schmidt was a German gymnast.

Schmidt initially did gymnastics for TSV Spandau 1860 . In 1940 he became the Brandenburg Master. In 1941 he reached fifth place in the Reich competitions for young gymnasts in Kassel behind Helmut Bantz and Ernst Braun.

In 1942 he did gymnastics with the German team in Sillein against Slovakia. He was the third best gymnast behind Karl Stadel and Kurt Krötzsch .

After the Second World War he worked in Bremen. In 1949 he was a member of the German national team. In July 1949 he did gymnastics with the German team in the Berlin Waldbühne .
