Seaweed juice
Algae juice (also algae water) is a liquid obtained from algae .
It is mainly used as a fertilizer in horticulture . Algae juice is either used as a normal fertilizer or sprayed directly onto the underside of the leaf. The plants thrive better and are more resilient.
Algae fuel can also be made from algae .
Manufacturing
The algae are harvested either with special ships or (less often) on the beach, after which there are different processing methods.
- During cold pressing , the algae are crushed and stored for about 2 weeks, during which lactic acid fermentation begins. Then the algae are pressed out. This method produces the least amount of juice, but it is considered the highest quality method of processing because hardly any ingredients are lost
- Some manufacturers heat the algae or freeze them for a short time or add enzymes to destroy the cell walls and thus increase the yield of fluids. However, some of the ingredients are usually lost in the process.
composition
Cold-pressed juice from seaweed contains 20% dry matter in addition to water , which is composed of 75% organic substances (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, plant hormones, pigments, vitamins) and 25% minerals.
