Algirdas Brazauskas hydroelectric power station Kaunas ( lit.Kauno Algirdo Brazausko hidroelectrinė , KHE) is a hydroelectric power station built in 1960 on the Memel in the municipality of Kaunas and in the district of Kaunas . It is the largest with renewable energy -powered power plant in Lithuania . In 2014 it was named after the Lithuanian President Algirdas Brazauskas . It is managed by “Lietuvos energijos gamyba”, a subsidiary of Lietuvos energija . The architect was P. Ryžikas, the engineer D. Chrenow and other project collaborators.
