Algurie (from ancient Greek ἄλγος algos "pain" and οὖρον ouron "urine") is the medical name for pain when urinating .

Causes are usually a (lower) urinary tract infection or bladder stones, more rarely, a prostate inflammation ( prostatitis ), a foreign body in the urethra ( urethra ) or a bladder cancer .
