Alhagie Darboe was a candidate for the United Democratic Party (UDP) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the Lower Fulladu West constituency in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region . With 23.09% he was able to win the constituency in front of the independent candidate Yankuba Sinera.
