Alhagie Mbow ran as a candidate for the National Reconciliation Party (NRP) in the 2017 parliamentary elections in the constituency of Upper Saloum in the Janjanbureh Administrative Region . With 66.42%, he was able to win the constituency before Barra Janneh (PPP) and Sainey Mbye (APRC).
