Ali Tayebnia or Tajebniah ( Persian علی طیب‌نیا) is an Iranian politician. He was nominated as Minister of Finance and Economy for the Rouhani government in August 2013 .

According to information from Bahman Nirumand , Tayebnia belongs, along with Masumeh Ebtekar and Hamid Abutalebi, to the group that occupied the US embassy in Tehran in 1979 shortly after the Iranian Revolution and held 52 American diplomats hostage for more than 444 days .
