Alijan Ibragimov

Alijan Ibragimow ( Russian Алиджан Рахманович Ибрагимов ; born June 5, 1954 ) is a Kazakh entrepreneur .

Life

Ibragimow comes from a Uighur family and was born in Fergana Oblast in 1954 , but grew up in Tokmak, Kyrgyzstan . After studying in Moscow, he went to Kazakhstan, which was then still Soviet in 1989. In the 1990s he founded the mining company Eurasian Natural Resources with Alexander Mashkevich and Patokh Chodiev . According to the US Forbes magazine , Ibragimov is one of the richest Kazakhs. Ibragimow is married with six children and lives in Almaty .
