The Alleanza Monarchica (German: Monarchist Alliance ; abbreviated: AM) is a monarchist party in Italy . Its orientation is between democratic , patriotic and conservative - in particular, it sees itself in the tradition of the Risorgimento , the unification of Italy from 1861 to 1870 as a constitutional monarchy . The party split from the Partito Democratico Italiano di Unità Monarchica (PDIUM) in 1972 in protest at its merger with the post-fascist Movimento Sociale Italiano by Giorgio Almirante .

The chairman ( Segretario ) is Franco Ceccarelli , while Roberto Vittucci Righini fulfills the more representative function of the party president ( Presidente ). The AM has carried out a number of signature campaigns in order to be able to run in local elections with its own list; however, it is irrelevant at national level. It has a youth organization ( Alleanza Monarchica Giovani ) and a women's organization.
