Allentsteiger highlands

The Allentsteiger Hochland is a plateau in the central Waldviertel in Lower Austria .

The plateau, dominated by forestry and arable farming, contains numerous damp hollows that have often been drained or used as wet grassland. The ecologically most valuable wetland complexes are located along the partly natural, small brooks.

Especially in the game and at the Allentsteig military training area there is a diverse forest vegetation with a rich flora and fauna.
