About the content

The story of the depressed news editor Kilian begins with his attempted suicide. However, due to unfortunate coincidences and his ignorance of the density of gas, this experiment ends in the hospital with a broken arm. As a consolation, he throws himself into an argument with his doctor.

Back at home, Kilian is given notice of his apartment. A little later he is visited by his young mother Sonja. He doesn't like her very much. You revel in old times.

As if that weren't enough, his long-time friend Sarah dumped him. He doesn't care, he only worries about the lonely weekends.

On the long and detailed scene of the pub tour with his twin brother Manfred, a number of schnapps are drunk. This then leads to more or less witty dialogues.

interpretation

Kilian tends towards rationalism and likes to be very cynical with his counterpart. About himself he says: “As long as I'm not dead, I have to try to live.” Why he wanted to kill himself at all, you only find out after more than half of the book.
