Allgäu mountain farming museum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allgäu mountain farming museum is located in the Immenstadt district of Diepolz on the slope of the 1,200 meter high Hauchenberg . From there you have a comprehensive view of the panorama of the Allgäu Alps .

The museum shows everyday life in a mountain village. Since it is designed as a living museum, it is suitable as a destination for families. It shows the development of rural life in the "blue Allgäu" at the time of flax cultivation , the development of the dairy industry in the Allgäu , promoted by Carl Hirnbein , and modern agriculture.

The museum consists of several buildings that document rural life. Several animal stalls , a herb garden , an alp and a mountain farm belong to it. The supporting association is Allgäuer Bergbauernmuseum e. V.
