General operating certificate for radio operators

The general operating certificate for radio operators is the name of the internationally recognized radio operating certificate General Operator's Certificate (GOC) issued in Germany .

The training and examinations for the GOC can join a part of a nautical training Seefahrtschule be taken (study at a professional or college). The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) permits further courses for training and testing outside of these studies . A German qualification is equivalent to a corresponding qualification of a citizen of the European Union in German territory, which is required in such a state for activities in the maritime radio service and was acquired there after completing at least three years of professional training.

The GOC is valid for five years and is then written by the BSH, in accordance with the rules of the STCW Convention, to be valid for a further five years if the holder can prove that during the last five years he has been using radio communications for at least one year on a radio license Operated the ship (so-called STCW endorsement).
