The General Security and Order Act (ASOG Bln) of the State of Berlin contains the tasks, responsibilities, powers and procedural regulations of the Berlin regulatory authorities and the Berlin police . The long title reads General Law for the Protection of Public Safety and Order in Berlin .

scope

The so-called police law in ASOG Bln is a state matter . In this respect, the ASOG Bln only applies in the state borders of the federal state , city-state and federal capital Berlin. In addition, the administrative laws apply in police law. The Federal Administrative Procedure Act (VwVfG) in conjunction with the Berlin Administrative Procedure Act is of paramount importance in its application .

Jurisdiction

In ASOG Bln, in accordance with many other police laws, the original responsibility for official acts or for the performance of tasks by the so-called regulatory authorities. The competencies of the regulatory authorities and the Berlin Police are based on the catalog of competencies (StatKat Ord) in the annex of ASOG Bln. An indication of the sole or explicit responsibility of the regulatory authorities or the police is also indicated by the naming of the competent authority in the respective text of the authority norms. In Berlin, the police are a special authority with various exceptions and special regulations.

Immediate compulsion

In Berlin, compulsory use has been regulated in a separate law since June 22, 1970. This is the law on the use of direct coercion when exercising public authority by law enforcement officers of the State of Berlin (UZwG Bln) . Additional comments can be found in the Implementing Regulations (AV).
