Alogy

As alogia one of the so-called is negative symptoms ( "A symptoms") of schizophrenia designated. It is understood to be a thought disorder with reduced speech production or impoverishment of the speech content.

It also manifests itself in an increase in response latency. This means that the patient answers questions very hesitantly and very sparingly. Conducting a conversation becomes tedious. The causes of the alogy are thought and expression disorders, but also impaired communication skills .

Alogy is the Greek expression for unreason, lack of understanding, inconsideration. Statements that lacked reason, were incomprehensible or even nonsensical were described as alogical .
