Bälinge Idrottsförening (short: Bälinge IF) is a Swedish sports club from Bälinge , a small town ten kilometers northwest of Uppsala . The association was founded on March 15, 1936. The club's flagship is the women's football department.
Women's soccer
The first team plays in Damallsvenskan , the top division in Swedish women's football. The club has not yet won any titles. The greatest success was reaching the cup final in 1996, where they were defeated by Älvsjö AIK 2-1. The most famous player is Josefine Öqvist , who was a member of the Swedish Olympic team in 2004. The team is coached by Magnus Wikman.
The club plays its home games at Studenternas IP in Uppsala, as there is no Damallsvenska-compatible stadium in Bälinge. The club colors are black and yellow. Originally the club colors were blue and yellow. Later, only the Swedish national teams were granted the right to wear the colors blue and yellow. The club then changed its colors.
