Josefine Öqvist (born July 23, 1983 in Uppsala ), called Jossan, is a Swedish soccer player who played for the Swedish national women's soccer team between 2002 and 2013 .
Career
societies
Öqvist played in the 2013 season for the Swedish first division club Kristianstads DFF and from the summer of the year at HSC Montpellier in France's highest division . She previously played for Tyresö FF in 2011 and took a baby break in 2012 after previously working for Linköpings FC . It originally comes from Bälinge IF .
National team
She made her debut in the national team on August 18, 2002 in a 1-0 win against North Korea . Josefine Öqvist scored the decisive goal against Canada in the semi-finals of the 2003 World Cup , bringing Sweden into the final against Germany , which was lost 2-1 in extra time.
With the national team, she also took part in the 2005 European Championship finals , the Olympic Games in Athens and Beijing and the 2007 World Cup in China . She was also nominated for the 2011 World Cup . She was used in two preliminary round matches and reached the quarterfinals with her team unbeaten, where they met Australia . Here Öqvist was back in the starting line-up and with the 3-1 victory both the semi-finals against Japan were reached and the qualification for the Olympic Games in London was perfect. In the semifinals against Japan she made it 1-0 in the 10th minute, but Sweden ended up knocking out 3-1 against Japan. On July 16, 2011, she and the team won the game for third place in the 2-1 victory over France . She received the red card in the 68th minute due to an assault .
After she was unable to attend the Olympic Games in London because of her pregnancy in 2012, she was back in 2013 to the Swedish squad for the European Championship finals and came in all five games for use, scoring two goals, but bowed out against holders Germany out . With 20 goals she is now one of the thirteen best goalscorers in the national team. In February 2014, she announced the end of her national team career.
