Alpheratz
Alpheratz (from the Arabic al-faras "the mare") is a constellation in Arabic astronomy. It is formed by four bright stars, which today belong to the constellation Pegasus except for α And .
The names of the stars are:
- Alpheratz ( α Andromedae , "mare's navel")
- Enif alpheratz ( ε Pegasi , "mare's nose")
- Markab alpheratz ( α Pegasi , "shoulder of the mare")
- Scheat alpheratz ( β Pegasi , "shin of the mare")
