history

«The year of construction is not clearly stated. ... An element for determining the time of construction can be found in the picture of the Adoration of the Kings . This scene was created by Bernardino Luini (or, under his direction, by his students) around the middle of the 16th century as a fresco above the altar. »

Paintings

The painting Adoration of the Magi

The frescoes and paintings of the old church, some from the 16th century, are now in the new parish church of Santa Lucia in Massagno , a few hundred meters from the square of the old church. The 16th century fresco Adorazione dei Magi ( Adoration of the Magi ) from the school of Bernardino Luini, which was in the old church, was transferred to canvas and can be seen in the new church; there are also the paintings Annunciazione ( Annunciation , 1636) and Santa Lucia (17th century).
