The old boundary stone between Cronenberg and Elberfeld is the last known and remaining boundary stone between the city of Elberfeld and the municipality of Cronenberg , which was named a city in 1856 and which are now both districts of Wuppertal . It is protected as a cultural monument .

The boundary stone, carved from a granite block , is located at the confluence of the Honigstaler Bach in the Rutenbeck , which forms the common historical border between Elberfeld and Cronenberg. The stone with arched head is on the Elberfeld page with the words " St.E " for " Elberfeld " and on the Cronenberger page with the words " Gd.C " for " community Cronenberg labeled". The visible area protrudes about 47 cm from the ground and is about 20 cm wide, 12 cm deep and has a wider base. Its construction dates before 1856 because, according to the lettering, Cronenberg was still a community when it was erected.

The boundary stone is an important testimony to the historical course of the border between today's Wuppertal districts and is of high significance in terms of local history.
